Several major competitors publish materially shorter terms: ten years at KOHLER and MAAX, five at Delta, Sterling and OVE Decors (glass), and one year at Coastal Shower Doors — with hardware often covered for less than the glass.

The table below sticks to what each manufacturer publishes for residential shower door coverage as of August 2026, on their own warranty pages and documents. We have deliberately left out brands whose published terms match or exceed lifetime coverage — this piece is about the gap between VIGO and the brands that cover less.
Two brands you will not find in that table: DreamLine and Basco both publish lifetime terms on their core coverage (with their own conditions and carve-outs — DreamLine's hardware finishes carry a 3-year term, and Basco's warranty must be activated by registering within 30 days). Credit where due; read their documents too.

What a longer warranty is actually telling you
A warranty is a bet the manufacturer makes on its own product. Hardware is where shower doors fail first — rollers, hinges, and finishes living in humid, chlorinated air — and it is exactly where short warranties hide: five years on the glass but one year on the hardware is a common pattern in the table above. When a brand covers the whole door for the life of the product, it is pricing in confidence about the 304 stainless steel, the multi-layer finish work, and the engineering of its moving parts.
It also tells you about parts. A lifetime warranty only works commercially if the company keeps replacement seals, rollers and hardware available for years — VIGO publishes replacement-parts support alongside its warranty, which matters more than most buyers realize the day a 9-year-old roller finally complains.
Three practical tips whichever brand you buy: photograph your receipt and register the product the week it arrives; note that every brand in this table excludes labor and post-installation glass breakage; and use non-abrasive cleaners, because harsh chemicals void coverage at essentially every manufacturer, VIGO included.
