Vessel: for the sink that sits on top
Best for above-counter bowls and raised basins
A vessel faucet is a single-hole faucet stretched tall so its spout arcs over a bowl that sits on the counter instead of in it. This is the boldest modern look — the faucet becomes sculpture — but height is not optional. The spout has to physically clear the rim of the raised bowl, so vessel faucets run 10 to 17 in tall where a single-hole faucet is short.

Type 03 — The Floating Look
Wall-mount: nothing on the counter
Best for vessel bowls, floating vanities and stone counters you don't want to drill
A wall-mount faucet puts the spout and handles into the wall, so the countertop stays completely clear — the most architectural, spa-like modern look, and the easiest surface to wipe clean. The trade-off is plumbing: the valve body has to be roughed into the wall about 2 in behind the finished surface, which usually means opening the wall during a remodel.
