A wall-mount faucet puts the spout and handles into the wall, so the countertop stays completely clear — the most architectural, spa-like modern look, and the easiest surface to wipe clean. The trade-off is plumbing: the valve body has to be roughed into the wall about 2 in behind the finished surface, which usually means opening the wall during a remodel.
